This district has distance 15 KM from Pati regency, lay on Pantura line direct forward to Rembang. Although district, this area relative prosper due to supported by growth economic. One of them is brass handicraft, mainly in Growong Lor village.
Was time ago, brass industry in Juwana rely brass waste raw material. Industry have time experience to degradation when monetary crisis at 1998 ago. From there, worker tries to develop a brass handicraft to survive. While in Juwana, I visit one of workshop, Lilik owner. She has 10 year doing business. Starting to produce brass lamp until covers lamp accessories. This result also used to fulfill necessary craftsman in Blora, Cepu and Bojonegoro area. According Lilik, the most product was looking for is cover lamp.
Price determinant
Kind of cover lamp depend on material cover lamp it self. Commonly material was used such as cloth fabric, satin fabric, tetoron fabric, woven cloth, belacu fabric, and silk fabric. Also there is cover lamp made of recycle stone dust material and wood duct material. The prices more expensive than other material due to process more complicated. Cover lamp price beside determined from raw material also determined from measurement (high and diameter) and leg lamp material. Material which used to make leg lamp also vary from wood, brass, until iron. For wood, coat finally also have many kinds, there is painted, other sanding by stone dust. For lamp leg from iron, more expensive about 45% than wood, while from brass material, more expensive 35%. So, the most expensive is material leg from iron.
